Two major open source available in Market today. Joomla and WordPress. Reportedly Joomla cover 22% open source market while WordPress is also having same number according to report.
But what is the point to compare both? One is a complete CMS platform while other is a quick publishing tool that is design to get your content online ASAP. A micro-CMS if you like to tag it as CMS. Major similarity is point of comparison is – both are PHP – MySQL-based webapps that run off a database, and perform similar functions. But overall growth of WordPress is in recent years will definitely put both the platform in comparison mode.
