If you own a blog, there are going to be readers commenting. Some genuine, some utterly rubbish and some even worse – spam. Negative comments are no big deal atleast they are negatively genuine. But spam – no. You need to do something about spam comments. If you are using WordPress as a blogging platform, you are lucky – there are a number of anti spam plugins available.
Here are three such plugins
- Akismet Comment Spam Fighter: WordPress comes with Akismet by default. This is an Anti spam plugin that works on an algorithm to “learn” comments that are spam and which are not.
- Antspam Bee : This anti spam plugin for WordPress allows you to place several filters like “Allow comments only in certain language”, “Consider comments which are already marked as spam”, “Block comments and pings from specific countries”, etc..
- Peter’s Custom Anti spam: This WordPress plugin helps block spambots from visiting your website by asking visitors to identify custom words displayed on the website before commenting.
